T Technavate*

Technavate is unique in the greater York region in that it establishes a university-industry partnership that will engage, support, and sustain innovation and commercialization of technology through entrepreneurial activities in targeted growth areas in the regional economy. Technavates’s goals are to (1) engage the campus with industry to provide an open and easily accessible process for technology transfer and providing integrated solutions in targeted growth areas in the regional economy, (2) support economic and community development by (a) supporting innovation and commercialization of technology through entrepreneurial activities, (b) identifying and facilitating the transfer and licensing of intellectual property through collaboration with University researchers, industry, and entrepreneurs and (c) promoting the successful development and commercialization of campus and University technology innovations and (3) sustain these activities by (a) providing demonstrable and measurable value to our industry partners, and (b) obtain funding through a combination of grants, fee for service activities, and investment funds from targeted high-growth industry clusters in our region.
