US carriers require business registration before SMS steps can send. It is a one-time form; approval usually takes a few days.
Click "Settings" in the sidebar.
Click the "Setup" tab.
Scroll to "A2P 10DLC Registration". You need a phone number first (see Phone Setup above it).
Enter the legal business name exactly as registered.
Choose the business type and industry.
Enter the EIN / tax ID — carriers verify it against public records, so typos are the usual reason for rejection.
Add the address and website, then the contact person in step 2, and submit. SMS steps unlock automatically once the campaign is approved; a fee is charged at submission.
